T-nuts are used to fasten climbing holds on a wooden wall. Hereby T-nuts act as the counterpart of hexagon socket screws.
The absolute advantage of the special T-Nut is that it is not hammered down, but fixed with two chipboard screws from the backside of the panel. This way a T-Nut will never loosen again on your climbing wall!
The special T-Nut offers a high-quality alternative to standard T-Nuts. But they also have the edge over other special T-nuts, which are fixed with four chipboard screws. The fixture of our special T-Nuts takes only half the effort. But also their loadability is increased as the two holes for the chipboard screws are much larger than the four holes in a conventional special T-Nut. Therefore thicker screws can be used when fixing the, which guarantees the perfect halt.
First of all mark all positions where you would like to place the special T-Nuts with the help of a grid. A hole grid of 10 cm (95 special T-nuts required per sqm) or 15 cm (45 special T-Nuts required per sqm) is recommendable for boulder walls. Every other row should be staggered. Another possibility is to use the exactly as many special T-Nuts as climbing holds. The disadvantage of this layout is that there are only very few options to fasten the climbing holds on the wall. Furthermore you would have to dismantle all panels if you plan to extend your wall. Drill 12 mm holes where you marked the spots for your special T-Nuts. Place the special T-Nuts from the backside of the panel into those holes and fix them with two chipboard screws.
