50 Special drive-in nuts M10 DIN EN 12572-2-2017 galvanised steel PROFESSIONAL screw-on nuts
Drive-in nuts with a metric thread are used to securely fasten climbing holds to wooden panels, for example on bouldering or climbing walls. They serve as a counterpart to the screw and enable a secure, removable connection.
In contrast to conventional drive-in nuts, the PROFESSIONAL version is not hammered in, but screwed in with two screws from the rear. This ensures that they are securely fastened and cannot twist - even if the handles are moved frequently. Unintentional pushing out is reliably prevented.
The thick support plate with 2 mm material thickness distributes the load evenly in the wood. Two large screw holes allow the use of strong wood screws, which additionally increases the holding force.
Assembly
Firstly, a grid is drawn on the back of the wooden panel to guide the positions of the drive-in nuts. For boulder walls, a hole grid of 10 cm (approx. 95 drive-in nuts per m²) or 15 cm (approx. 45 drive-in nuts per m²) has proven to be effective. Every second row is staggered to allow a greater variety of grips. Alternatively, the drive-in nuts can also only be used where climbing holds are to be installed. This variant saves material, but offers less flexibility when moving or extending the panels at a later date, as the panels would have to be machined or removed again. 12 mm holes are then drilled at the marked positions. The drive-in nuts are inserted into the holes from the rear and securely screwed in place with two chipboard screws. This creates a strong, permanently stable connection.
